Karl Wolfgang Epple, born 86 the son of a Samoan mother and a German father, is Executive Creative Director for the thjnk group, specialized in new business and creative excellence. In the last 5 years, he pitched 50+ brands. His favorite clients include Audi, IKEA, McDonald’s, Mercedes-Benz and Porsche Design.
Karl solely believes in ideas that impact culture. His work has been recognized with numerous industry awards including Cannes Lions, New York Festivals, LIA, Clio, ADC, Eurobest and The One Show. When he joined the German ADC, he became their youngest member ever. He now shows great interest in supporting the next generation of creativity, teaching at several universities and judging in international award shows. He’s a member of the ADC*E and the D&AD, too. Karl also writes novels and columns and essays from his viewpoint on the idustry, e.g. for Huffington Post and Page Magazine. His favorite dinosaur is Triceratops, his favorite TV show character is Rick Grimes.
